Café con Leche Recipe

Café con leche, or "coffee with milk," is a rich and creamy coffee drink that has been enjoyed throughout Latin America and Spanish-speaking countries for centuries. It combines equal parts espresso and steamed milk. To fully appreciate the caramel notes and dark aroma of our full-bodied Espresso, we recommend enjoying this drink unsweetened. While you can use a milk substitute, for the creamiest result, whole milk is the best choice.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 ounces of freshly brewed Café Mexicano Espresso
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of raw sugar, optional and to taste

Instructions:

  1. Start by preparing a cup of our espresso coffee using your preferred brewing method
  2. At the same time heat ½ cup of milk over medium heat (or microwave), whisking until the milk is heated through and steaming
  3. Add desired sugar to a cup and dissolve by whisking thoroughly using the first couple ounces of brewed espresso. Pour in the remaining espresso to completely dissolve the sugar
  4. Slowly add the steaming milk into the coffee cup, blending the two together
